Commentaire :Dear Reader, It is a privilege and an honour for me to introduce to you, on behalf of the ARMENIAN BUSINESS FORUM (ABF), this Country Brief on the Republic of Armenia. We cannot claim that this is an exhaustive and a complete publication. It is nevertheless a useful and a brief guide which will help foreign and Armenian businessmen as well as visitors to form an idea at a glance about the Republic, its natural, agricultural and human resources and its industrial products. It also describes briefly the privatization, joint venture, foreign trade and income-tax regulations. ARMENIAN BUSINESS FORUM was founded in May 1991 and officially registered with the local authorities in Paris and in Yerevan as a non-profit organization. The sole aim and purpose of the Forum is to help improve the economy in the Republic of Armenia by promoting the creation of joint ventures, by attracting foreign capital investments and by introducing western technology. ABF has offices in Yerevan and in Paris and representatives in important business centers in the world through its board members who are available for consultations. This booklet could not have been prepared without the valuable help and cooperation of Dr. Stepan Karamardian of the American University of Armenia and its Center for Business Research and Development, to whom we extend our gratitude.
