Preface

For the young Communicant
You may have attended the Divine Liturgy in your Church many times and not really felt part of it or known what was going on. You probably had many questions that you wanted to ask.
We hope this short book willhelp you understand more about the Badarak. Each of the four sections of the service are identified and there is a icture depicting each main action in the Liturgy. There are even some more pictures of action you do not see, such as the Vesting before the service.
If you take this booklet with you when you go to church, you will be able to recognize which part of the Liturgy is being said, by following the pictures, and to learn what it means, by reading the short definitions and comments. You will also be able to join in the Badarak more fully – for, after all, it your service and very important to you as a young Amenian Christian.
We want to thank many people who helped us : particularly Archbishops Torkom Manoogian and Tiran Nersoyan ; the congregation of St. Joachim ans St. Anne, West Pullman, Illinois ; and Dr. And Mrs Arsen Lazarian and family.
May the participation in the Divine Liturgy bring you even closer to God and to each other.

G.B.H and L.T.H
